DeSci LATAM is a public good with a mission to promote the advancement of science in Latin America, by bridging the gap between the scientific community and the blockchain ecosystem. Founded in June 2022, we aim to serve the community and disseminate DeSci knowledge in Spanish and Portuguese. We've already hosted the first DeSci event in Buenos Aires and co-organized an event in Rio de Janeiro, as well as participated in panels at ETH Brazil and presented at Vitalia this year, highlighting our commitment to raising awareness about DeSci in our region.

To further our mission, we aim to produce more articles, livestreams and other content related to DeSci, promoting open science and decentralization. We are aware of the main challenges, such as the gap between the scientific community and DeSci, the lack of visibility and funding for scientific projects, and the language barriers that hinder access to information in Spanish and Portuguese.

To address these challenges, we propose to provide information in Spanish and Portuguese, organize events and conferences to promote scientific projects and the DeSci ecosystem, collaborate with universities and research centers, and connect the scientific community with funding and Web3 tools. In addition, we're committed to highlighting Latin American scientific problems and matching them with customized DeSci solutions.
